In a relaxed and friendly setting enjoy practical and informative learning. You'll learn the basics of leatherwork, all about the materials and tools, cutting and preparing natural vegetable tanned leather, and traditional hand stitching techniques, as well as fixing hardware and personalisation. These workshops are tailored to your requirements and are recommended if you have your own leather or hide to work with or have something particular you'd like to make. You can even use our stock of templates or design your own pattern. Kept to a small group of 2-3 students you will have Tracy's full attention to make the most of your experience.
These workshops are run to requirement so please contact us for available dates.
Tea and homemade cake is provided to keep your energy and creative levels up, and all materials are included in the price. All hardware, and a choice of natural vegetable tanned leather in a range of colours. Each leather hide is individually selected for its beautiful natural qualities, complete with hallmarks, scars and markings from the tanning process - a testament to the natural origin of the hide.
If you enjoy this introduction to leatherwork and would like to continue making some other projects at home, you'll be able to purchase a ‘Beginner’s Toolkit’ and a choice of vegetable tanned leather to get you started!
Covid Update - The studio is light and airy with good natural ventilation, and the leather working bench is large enough to fit 4 students comfortably within the social distancing guidelines. Each student will have their own set of tools which will be sanitised before and after every workshop and further sanitising measures will be taken throughout. Handwashing and sanitiser facilities on entry. I want to make sure everyone feels comfortable with our Covid procedures, so if you have any queries please ask.
